Maintain a Good Grip through the Whole Game

The grip is an extremely important element of the golf swing because it is the only point at which you are connected to the club. A poor grip can ruin even the best of swings, so it is important that you pay attention to your grip as a regular part of your practice. Even during a round of golf, things can happen that cause your grip to be compromised and your swing can suffer as a result. If you can avoid having trouble with your grip and make sure it stays solid for all 18 holes, you will be in a better position to finish strong.

Below are a few tips that can help you to maintain that good grip all throughout the round. Use one or more of these tips in your next round to try and keep the connection between your hands and the club as comfortable as possible.

  • Keep your glove dry. Assuming you use a golf glove when you play, do everything you can to keep it dry during the round. If the weather is wet, make sure your glove gets into your pocket or under your umbrella in between shots so it doesn’t get damp. Or, on a hot day, make sure to take it off and let it dry between shots so it doesn’t soak up too much of the sweat from your hand.
  • Keep your grips dry and clean. Make it a habit to use your towel to wipe off your grip before each shot you hit. As the round goes on, your grips can pick up oils from your hands and start to get more slippery. Even just a quick wipe down with your golf towel can go a long way toward making them easier to hold onto. Between rounds, give them a good cleaning to extend the life of the grip and help them remain tacky. When they start to get hard and slick, it is time to have them replaced.
  • Use more than one glove. Even if you do a good job of keeping your glove as dry as possible, it still might get damp as the round moves along. If you can, try keeping a couple of spare gloves in your bag that you can rotate during the round. This plan will allow one glove to dry out while you use the other, so you should always have a good one ready to use.

The Climate is Excellent

weather on the resorts

Portimao golf courses are in a region of Portugal that has an amazing climate. Portimao is close enough to the shore to enjoy the cool sea breezes, but far enough away that it doesn’t rain all of the time.

The Mediterranean and temperate climate also keeps the temperature fairly comfortable for golfing, which means that Portimao golf courses are ideal in almost every way in terms of weather.
