Chipping fundamentals that will help you around the green

Chipping on the golf course may seem easier than it looks, but there are a few characteristics to consider that make this element very important. In many cases golfers need to pay attention to how they address the ball. Some may need improvements with posture, grip and how they keep their eye on the ball. Because there are different elements that go into chipping, you can break it down into a workable plan you can practice overtime to get the results you want. Consider the following points to help you get started.

  • Watch your grip. You can choke down on it to help you get more leverage. This helps your hands get more balance and weight control as you hold the club. You will be able to control hand movement and reduce risk of hands flipping too soon. You can get your body into a lower position instead of using your back to hunch over.
  • Keep your body narrow and open. Sometimes it is not necessary to keep your body aligned with the target, but some golfers will argue this statement. Your body needs to be able to rotate as you make your swing. Allowing your body to rotate will help keep your hands under control.
  • Try keeping your head up when you strike the ball. Many golfers have a habit of keeping their head down as they chip. For many people this element prevents the body from rotating. This may even encourage your hands to flip. Your neck should be aligned with your spine to help your head stay in an upright position. Your eyes should still stay on the ball.
  • Make sure you have the right club in hand. Some golfers will have choice between a few clubs instead of using just one. This helps out when considering the positon of the ball and your stance. A sand wedge, 8-iron and a pitching wedge can be a few options to consider. They each offer different degrees when considering spin and height combinations and solid ball contact.
  • Maintain your wrist hinge as you chip. You can get different results based on how you adjust your length when you swing. The position of the ball stays the same but consider aspect of a longer swing with a longer chip. Practice this method to understand different chipping results.

The Climate is Excellent

weather on the resorts

Portimao golf courses are in a region of Portugal that has an amazing climate. Portimao is close enough to the shore to enjoy the cool sea breezes, but far enough away that it doesn’t rain all of the time.

The Mediterranean and temperate climate also keeps the temperature fairly comfortable for golfing, which means that Portimao golf courses are ideal in almost every way in terms of weather.
