Tips for Maintaining Your Golf Equipment

It’s no secret that golf equipment can get rather expensive. If you so choose, you can easily spend thousands of dollars assembling a great set of clubs, so you want to make sure that you maintain those clubs as well as you can, for as long as you can. Not only will it save you money to keep your clubs in good condition, it can help you to play better as well.

The good news is that maintaining your golf clubs is a rather simple job. By taking a little time during and after each round to keep an eye on the condition of your clubs, you should be able to protect them and make sure they stay in tip-top shape for the long run.

Keep Them Dry

Water is damaging to golf clubs over time, so keep yours as dry as possible. When you are playing a round of golf in the rain, bring along an extra towel and try to keep the clubs dry by wiping them down after each use. When the round is over and you get back home, be sure to take all clubs out of the bag, towel them off, and set them out to dry for at least a few hours. If they stay in your damp bag for a couple of days before you do anything about it, you might find that they suffer some damage as a result.

Clean Out Your Grooves

The grooves on the face of your irons is a common place for dirt and grass to collect after a round. One round worth of shots probably won’t accumulate much dirt, but it adds up as the rounds go by. Make a habit of wiping down your club after each shot so you don’t let the accumulation start to add up. It only takes a second to grab your towel and wipe down the head of your iron before putting it back in the back - but it can make a world of difference for the way your clubs look and perform. If you have more-stubborn dirt that won’t come out of the grooves with just a towel, the end of a tee works well to dig out the hard-to-get bits.

It only takes a couple of minutes to provide proper care to your golf clubs, and it is well worth your time to do so. With the possibility of saving money and playing better golf at the same time, you shouldn’t need any more motivation than that.

The Climate is Excellent

weather on the resorts

Portimao golf courses are in a region of Portugal that has an amazing climate. Portimao is close enough to the shore to enjoy the cool sea breezes, but far enough away that it doesn’t rain all of the time.

The Mediterranean and temperate climate also keeps the temperature fairly comfortable for golfing, which means that Portimao golf courses are ideal in almost every way in terms of weather.
